From Monday, October 20 to Sunday, October 26, BirdLife Australia is inviting people of all ages to take just 20 minutes out of their day to spot, identify and count the birds around them.
Last year, more than 57,000 participants submitted nearly 130,000 checklists and logged more than 4.1 million birds across the country.
The rainbow lorikeet, noisy miner and Australian magpie topped the charts in 2024. Will they swoop in for the top three once more in 2025?

Spring into the garden with free mulch
Campaspe Shire Council is making it easy for residents to revitalise their gardens by offering discounted delivery for loads of more than five cubic metres, to enable those residents with small or no trailer to access free mulch.
Residents are already able to collect free mulch from Colbinabbin, Echuca, Gunbower, Mt Scobie (Kyabram), Lockington and Rushworth resource recovery centres while stocks last.
To seek a quote for mulch delivery, visit the ‘Now Open’ section of council’s website at: www.campaspe.vic.gov.au/mulchdelivery
