Since 2017, it has ensured every dollar raised locally stays local, helping patients with travel, accommodation, medical and pharmaceutical costs, and essential household expenses.
Supported by a small but dedicated committee and strong backing from local clubs, schools, and community groups, Can Assist works closely with health professionals to make sure no one faces cancer alone.
The work of volunteers reflects the compassion and strength of the Edward River community.
Financial assistance is only possible through strong local fundraising, and the Deniliquin branch is proudly powered by its community.
Core events - like the highly successful high tea and the Ute Muster ferret races - bring people together while raising essential funds.
Can Assist also receives generous support from other organisations and sporting groups, whose contributions help ensure local cancer patients get the help they need.
In the last financial year alone, Can Assist Deniliquin provided more than $100,000 in direct support to local patients - a remarkable achievement and a testament to the power of community care.
