Pet registration is a legal requirement for all cats and dogs over three months old, and is one of the most effective ways lost animals become quickly reunited with their owners.

Registration is due by Friday, April 10. Fees also support a wide range of animal management services, including the Greater Shepparton Animal Shelter, animal rangers, and the investigation and prosecution of serious animal-related offences.
Greater Shepparton City Council director of sustainable development Geraldine Christou said pet registration played a vital role in keeping both the animals and the community safe.
“With pet registrations closing on Friday, April 10, we’re reminding residents there is only a short time left to make sure their cats and dogs are registered,” she said.
“Pet registration helps reunite lost animals with their families and supports the ongoing work that protects animal welfare and community safety across Greater Shepparton.”
