The Numurkah teenager’s interest in reining started four years ago and, after a couple of training sessions, she took the reins and taught herself all the way to a national title.
After submitting a four-page application and video of herself reining, the 16-year-old has now been selected to compete in the National Reining Horse Association Youth World Cup in Rome.
But it won’t be the first time she’s gone on the road to compete.
“We travelled across Australia showing horses,” Adelaide said.
“I love the fun of it really, the horses — riding the horses is pretty good.”

Adelaide currently holds the Australian champion and Oceania champion titles.
Her current horse is known as Alrite Tonite in the ring, but at home he’s plain old Dog, who is a three-year-old Quarter Horse.
“His name’s Dog, and he’s just like a dog. He’s sweet and just loves people really,” Adelaide said.
Dog won’t be making the trip to Rome; Adelaide will compete on a horse provided by the competition organisers.
In her application for the Italian event, Adelaide said it would be an honour to represent her country in a sport she loves.
“I would be a proud representative of Australia,” her application said.
“I have consistently worked hard and won with my horses, sometimes in trying circumstances.
“I enjoy supporting fellow competitors and am committed to promoting the sport of reining to the best of my ability.”

She finished her application with a show of gratitude to the people and organisations that have supported her reining journey.
“I acknowledge the extensive support I have received from the reining industry to date, both in Australia and America,” she said.
“I will endeavour to make everyone, including myself, proud by displaying a high level of skill, horsemanship and sportsmanship at all times.”
Her mum Nicole Osler is a big supporter of her passion and has set up a GoFundMe to support Adelaide’s trip overseas.
“Addy is so driven and dedicated in her love for her horses and the sport of reining,” Mrs Osler said on the GoFundMe page.
“We know she will be a strong competitor and proud representative on the world stage.”
It has a $3000 goal, with just over $1500 raised so far.
