A woman was allegedly set on fire by another woman in Shepparton on Monday, January 15.

Police are investigating the alleged incident on Middlesex Cres at about 6.30pm.
A 20-year-old Shepparton woman was flown to Melbourne’s The Alfred hospital in a critical condition with upper body injuries.

Police said after fleeing the scene, a 33-year-old Shepparton woman was located by police nearby.
She was airlifted to The Alfred with upper body injuries, where she remains under police guard.
The two women are believed to be known to each other, police said.
Damage: There was a broken window at the front of the house where the alleged incident occurred.

At 11.30am on Tuesday, a hospital spokesperson said both women remained in hospital in a critical condition.
Detectives from the Arson and Explosives Squad are in Middlesex Cres this morning and police will work to determine the exact circumstances of what happened.
