The popular Speak Up 4 Water campaign will discuss its future on February 13 at its annual general meeting.

Current chair Lachlan Marshall is due to step down after being elected as a shareholder director to the board of Murray Irrigation Ltd.

“We will need a new chair and are hoping to get some fresh faces on the committee,” Mr Marshall said.

“As we approach an election period at federal and state level — both NSW and Victoria — it will be important that the benefits of irrigated agriculture continue to be at the forefront.”

Speak Up has been a major advocate for improved water policy since 2015.

Its annual general meeting will be held on Sunday, February 13.
