The tank itself is 12 metres long and four metres high, holding 14,000 litres of water and full of barramundi.
Expert demonstrator Michael Cooke will share his decades of knowledge, showing exactly how lures perform in real conditions.
“We’ve been doing a lot of years at Seymour and all the other shows for about 25 years,” Michael said.
“We show people how lures work, how to use them in the different ways, when you should be using lures, but more importantly, the speed work, and then we talk about some freshwater lures.”
Unlike typical fishing seminars, these demonstrations offer a rare underwater view of how fish actually respond to different lures.
Michael has been a trusted presence at the Seymour Alternative Farming Expo for over 15 years, drawn back by the welcoming community spirit.
“The people are really nice and are always happy to sit down and watch the shows,” Michael said.
Outside the show itself, Michael will be selling lures at a nearby marketing stand to encourage attendees to put their newfound knowledge to practical use.
Even returning visitors will discover fresh insights, as Michael continuously updates his presentations with the latest fishing innovations and techniques.
“There’s always something new coming out as far as lures, always new releases, so we also carry a bit of a range of the newest rods and reels out,” he said.
From complete beginners to seasoned weekend warriors, every angler will gain valuable knowledge from the Berkley Supertank experience.
“Anybody who enjoys fishing will get something out of it and all of that knowledge is going to help you become a better angler,” Michael said.
“Please come and say hello and then obviously get around and have a good day because it is a really great expo.
“It's always a pleasure to be there.”
