Farmers wanting to learn more about the national livestock identification system can attend a workshop at Tatura on Wednesday, June 19.
Traceability of stock movements is maintained through NLIS to meet market requirements and manage disease outbreaks.
Agriculture Victoria is providing hands-on workshops to enable producers to improve their understanding and management of their NLIS.
The workshops will help producers become more familiar with the NLIS database and understand their reporting and notification functions.
Topics include:
■Use of the NLIS database, with practical exercises.
■Management of livestock movements on/off your property.
■Property-to-property transfers (P2P transfers).
■Traceability obligations.
The workshop will be held at Agriculture Victoria, 255 Ferguson Rd, Tatura on Wednesday, June 19, from 10am to 2pm. Lunch is provided.
■Registration is required. To book or for more information, phone Sarah Chaplin on 0439 275 896 or email: sarah.chaplin@ecodev.vic.gov.au
