Held on the banks of the mighty Murray River at 467 Tuppal Rd, Tocumwal, the family friendly event, Blues on the River, is aimed to give people a break and #dancethedroughtaway.
Supported by the Berrigan Shire Council, Tocumwal Chamber of Commerce Industry and Tourism, Bakery Park Motor Inn and Strawberry Fields Music Group, the festival will see a number of artists perform at the event.
Tocumwal resident Maryanne Ryan said the event is a great initiative by all involved.
“Together, they’ve put on something to bring locals together during such challenging times,” Mrs Ryan said.
“We can easily slip into the mindset of not feeling like socialising or coming together when we feel like we are faced with overwhelming challenges that our area is currently facing, but these times are the times it is really important to come together.
“Our community is our greatest strength and social asset so if you are free this weekend, take a few hours off, bring the family and enjoy some great music, food and activities.”
The festival is free for Berrigan Shire residents or $10 for non shire residents (kids under 15 free).
