Shepparton enjoyed a wet start to winter, receiving almost double the amount of rain recorded in June 2024.

Rainfall in Shepparton had a total of 54.4mm for June 2025, after a total of 27.6mm of rain in June 2024.
Looking at Victoria as a whole, rainfall totals in June were above to very much above average for most of the south-west, and below average for parts of the south-east and far north-west.
Average daytime temperatures in June were close to average for much of the state, and above average for parts of the south and far north-west.
Victoria’s area-averaged mean maximum temperature was 12.99°C, 0.08°C below the 1961 to 1990 average.
Mean minimum temperatures in June were below to very much below average for much of the state.

In June, several cold fronts passed through Victoria with cold air masses, strong to damaging winds, and showers.
July brought wet weather across the state, with more than 60mm of rainfall in Shepparton.
July’s rainfall was defined by a wet weekend, where Shepparton saw 25mm of rain from 9am on Friday, July 25 to 9am Monday, July 28, with 16.8mm falling on Friday.
Strathbogie saw 50.2mm of rain on the Friday and Saturday, bringing its total rainfall for July to 168.6mm.
Kerang and Seymour Shire Depot recorded the most July rainfall the towns have had in more than 20 years.
Shepparton’s warmest day was 16.8°C on Saturday, July 26, which led into the warmest night, with a night-time temperature of 9.3°C.
Kerang had the hottest day and night in the region, reaching 17.7°C and 9.6°C.
Strathbogie had the coldest day and the coldest night, at 7.7°C and -3.2°C.
Shepparton’s coldest night was on Thursday, July 24, which fell to a chilling -1.4°C, which was followed by the coldest day, on Friday, July 25, hitting a daytime temperature of 10.2°C
Rainfall totals in August were below to very much below average for large parts of northern Victoria, and close to average for parts of the west and east.
August rainfall for Victoria (bottom map) closely followed the same rainfall pattern for the winter 30-year average (top).
Shepparton saw 26.8mm of rainfall, Mangalore, 45.6mm, Yarrawonga, 22.7mm and Strathbogie, 88.4mm.
Victoria's area-averaged rainfall total in August was 48.9 mm, 35 per cent below the 1961 to 1990 average.

Between August 26 and 30, several cold fronts and low-pressure troughs impacted Victoria, bringing thunderstorms, some severe, also showers, hail, snow and a prolonged period of strong winds.
