Our Winter Works program takes place every year during the irrigation off-season from May 16 to August 14 when we don’t have our usual water delivery obligations.
The program sees us deliver important maintenance and upgrades to our water delivery network including our channels.
The works we delivered for this year’s program are helping provide more efficient and reliable water delivery to our customers.
That includes about 80 kilometres of channel desilting works and the treatment of weeds across a further 300km of channel.
The works also included channel remodelling and rock armouring, replacing or repairing ageing culverts, replacing a bridge on the TO 3 channel near Cohuna and delivering bridge refurbishments near Mitiamo and Tatura.
About 60 G-MW staff were deployed to carry out the program, in addition to specialist contractors.
They all worked hard to deliver this year’s program under challenging conditions, with rain adding an extra level of complexity.
Well done to all the staff and contractors for preparing for and delivering these works in such a safe and coordinated way.
Thank you for all the work you put in to deliver these important works.
Thank you to the community as well for your patience with detours and changed conditions during the Winter Works program.
Another big development keeping us busy is the new irrigation season, which started on August 15.
In the lead up to the season’s start, our staff held a number of drop-in sessions across northern Victoria about the new version of our online water ordering system WaterLINE.
This new version makes it easier for customers to place and manage their orders and to check their Allocation Bank Account balance.
This version has been available on the G-MW website since November last year.
It is now the only version customers can use given the previous version is no longer supported by the provider.
The recent drop-in sessions we held provided customers support in setting up this new version of WaterLINE.
They also allowed customers to ask any questions they had about the new WaterLINE to our staff.
If you missed attending one of these sessions and would like support in using the new WaterLINE, phone G-MW on 1800 013 357.
More information about the new WaterLINE, including how-to videos and the WaterLINE user manual, can be found on our website at www.gmwater.com.au/waterline.
Our phone ordering system remains available for customers to use via 1300 469 469.
