The article is not in any way my experience.
I live in Winton and I have received a number of emails from VicGrid about this REZ.
With the emails you could respond with your concerns, questions and details.
Being blind-sided and with no consultation is certainly not my experience.
If I received these emails everyone in the region would have as well.
Also being in a REZ it is not the case all areas are going to have solar and wind farms.
It is also noted that this is prime agricultural land, but nowhere in any legislation can I find what that term actually means.
No legislation defines it.
So please define it and then a discussion can progress.
Your headline ‘Farm threat’ could obviously be read also as ‘Farmers’ opportunity’.
I also note in previous farming generations when transmission lines were first installed on farming land, there was no aggravation, no fears, no abuse by the farming communities.
They all knew and understood that it would be a benefit to communities.
Lastly, I was always of the understanding that farming was best when a diversification of income was part of farming process.
Solar and wind can offer that diversification of income and that must surely be a benefit to farming communities.
