First Constable Darcy Demasson said the man, aged in his 40s, allegedly hit an unoccupied parked vehicle with his utility in a residential Mooroopna street in the early hours of Wednesday, December 31.
The impacted vehicle sustained significant enough damage for it to be written off.
The man was taken to Shepparton Police Station for an evidential breath test, where First Constable Demasson said he was found to be allegedly “well in excess of the legal blood alcohol limit for driving”.
The Mooroopna man has been charged with several driving offences, including leaving the scene without providing information, and exceeding the prescribed limit of alcohol.
He was released pending summons and will face Shepparton Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
