Starting in the halves for most of last year, local product Savala became the odd man out when marquee signing Daly Cherry-Evans arrived over the summer.
Coach Trent Robinson trialled Savala in several positions over the pre-season, but the rangy 24-year-old has found a home in the centres since Billy Smith went down with his latest injury in round four.
Savala crossed for a try-scoring double in the Roosters' come-from-behind defeat of Newcastle on Sunday, his third game for the season.
"I've been training everywhere in the pre-season, and 'Robbo' has tested me, so I'm ready for whatever's to come. I love playing at centre," he said.
"Billy helped me throughout the week in the preparation for the game. He's done that the last two weeks."
His tall build is more akin to that of an outside back, but Savala has long insisted the halves are his preferred spot.
He is still working on his game as a playmaker and appears the next cab off the rank should Cherry-Evans or Walker go down injured.
"Obviously, there's a half and a five-eighth inside me, but I was playing left centre (against Newcastle) and that's the role I was doing" Savala said.
"I'm still working on my kicking at training and my ball playing."
For now, though, Savala is happy to continue to play the role of Robinson's Mr Fix-It.
Smith is expected back from his knee injury in the coming weeks, which could force Savala to find yet another position in which to ply his trade.
"I could play wherever he (Robinson) wants me to," Savala said.
"He's tested me a lot the last two years in training and in pre-season, so I'm ready for whatever."
