The Melburnian centre Tuipulotu, who looked set for a career with the Wallabies after playing for Australia Under 20s, has become an inspirational leader for Scotland ever since throwing in his lot with his grandmother's home country.
He led them to victory over Australia in Edinburgh and last week guided them to an epic 50-40 win over champions France - but on Saturday, he could eclipse that if his team defeat Ireland in Dublin and win their first 'Triple Crown' in the Six Nations.
Even more enticingly, victory at Aviva Stadium would move Scotland to the top of the championship table before France then late on Saturday attempt to successfully defend their title by beating England in the tournament finale.
With history beckoning by leading the Scots to their first title in the 26 years since the Five Nations Championship was extended to become the Six Nations, the 29-year-old Tuipulotu declared: "We want to be the first of our kind, you know?
"I feel like with this team, that I've played for in the last five years, we've been to hell and back together.
"Where my strength comes from, or our strength comes from as a team, is the hard stuff we've been through.
"To be resilient in those times is what gives me the most confidence that we'll be the best version of ourselves tomorrow.
"There's obviously a bit on the line and maybe it's a little bit of foreign territory for a Scottish team to be in the last week and there be a lot on the line, but we've earned that privilege. We're really excited about it."
It's a big ask, though, with Ireland having dominated the Scots in recent times, winning 11 successive games dating back to 2018 and 15 of the last 16 meetings.
"We do believe. We've built that belief within the group but you've got to go act on it now. We've talked about it throughout the week and now it's time to go do it."
Tuipulotu's team will include former Wallaby Jack Dempsey in the back row as they seek a first victory over Ireland since their 27-22 success at Murrayfield in February 2017.
