The $768,907.60 contract, awarded to Shepparton-based Moretto Building Pty Ltd, involves the design and construction of the new facilities.
While the building’s physical footprint will remain unchanged, the interior will undergo a complete refit to include upgrades to provide accessible male, female, and umpire change rooms.
Designs incorporating feedback from the Congupna Football Netball Club are under review.
City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Shane Sali said the “big investment” would provide an improvement to the facility.
“Those rooms are very tired, so it’s a very timely upgrade,” he said.
“There’s nothing better than when we can award contracts to locally owned and operated businesses.”
Initial demolition is expected to start in late January, with works expected to be completed in preparation for the 2026 football season.
“They will have to work with the Murray Football League to accommodate any possibility of it not being ready for the start of the season,” Cr Sali said.
The works are expected to be completed by the start of the 2026 football season.

The contract was awarded after being moved by councillor Kieron Eddy at council's December meeting.
Deputy Mayor and Pine Lodge ward councillor Geoff Akers, who seconded the motion, said it was good to see the “important community asset” get an upgrade to be fit for purpose.
“I look forward to seeing works progress on this important project,” he said.
