Last Saturday was significant for the club, with commemoration a focus at Mathoura Recreation Reserve.
In senior football, both sides donned an Anzac Day strip and a service was held before the match.
In that game, Mathoura gave Picola United a scare in the opening quarter, kicking five goals and took a 33 to 26 lead into the first break.
Picola kept the Cutters to a goal in the second term and added four to reclaim the advantage 53 to 39 at half-time.
Another stifling defensive effort kept Mathoura scoreless in the third, as the Blues got out by five goals.
Although the hosts found their form again in the fourth, Picola United were able to win the final term four goals to three, sealing a 95 to 58 win.
In the A-grade netball the Blues scored a consistent 13 in the second half, while the Cutters managed only nine a term which led to Picola United scoring the win 51 to 26.
This week the Cutters are away to take on Waaia, who are undefeated in the A-grade netball and in senior football following a 228 point win over Rennie last week.
