With beanies on, jumpers worn and vests zipped up, the region’s golfers braved the chilly conditions last week.

In the hope of sinking a hard-fought birdie, a magical eagle or perhaps that elusive and mystical hole-in-one, Mooroopna Golf Club had patrons strolling through its doors on June 18.

Golf trolleys in tow, players smacked, whacked and thwacked off the tee.

They then hoicked and smoked — or choked — their iron in a bid for a well-placed roll up onto the green.

Putters were unsheathed and lined up once, twice and thrice to be safe.

A subtle “golf shot”, “nice putt”, or “bad luck” were muttered following the attempt.

All the sights and sounds of a midweek game of golf were on display, and News photographer Megan Fisher was busy at the club taking snaps of passionate golfers in action.
