Despite Echuca’s position level at the top of the table and the boost from one of the year’s leading draft prospects, a desperate Kyabram, fighting for finals after claiming the 2025 premiership, has taken the early lead at Echuca South Recreation Reserve.
The Bombers are leading 31-7 and five goals to one in the opening quarter, needing a strong final month to secure a top six finish.
Carlton legend and former Echuca coach Andrew Walker, who helped institute the round at the club, addressed both sides ahead of the game as part of the Indigenous round commemorations, which also included a smoking ceremony.
