Milk begins to flow at ACM’s Girgarre factory

By Rodney Woods

Milk started flowing through the pipelines at the ACM Girgarre factory yesterday, which will eventually produce A1 and organic milk, milk powder, cream and butter.

A feature of the plant will be the ability to switch from one specialty product to another.

The company has already secured a contract with Bellamys, an infant food and organic milk company.

‘‘In stage one, we’ll be looking to put through about 100 million litres and in stage two about 200million litres,’’ ACM chairman Michael Auld told Country News in October.
