Through the centre of Lockington runs an extensive channel network where you may see a “Loch Ness” yabby — a giant yabby which can be pulled up from the depths of the extensive channel network in the middle of town.
If you find a yabby make sure you stop in at the community owned hotel to tell the locals about it.
The Lockington and District Living Heritage Complex is a history museum paying homage to an incredible array of heritage farming equipment aligned to the region.

ELMORE
Home of the Elmore Field Days, the Elmore Events Centre has been bringing together the farming community since 1964, with one of Australia’s premier agricultural field days each October.
A great opportunity to have some fun while discovering the history of the Sunshine Harvester that was developed in the area by Hugh Victor McKay, the Rural Discovery Centre, Elmore, run by volunteers, is well worth a stop.

Bordering the south end of the beautiful Echuca Moama district you will find the northern area of the Heathcote wine region.
First stop on this mini wine route is Humis Vineyard, Cellar Door at Corop with a focus on sustainability, the vineyard grows Rhone variety grapes such as Grenache, Grenache Blanc, Picpoul and Marsanne because of the varieties ability to deal with heat and moisture.

COLBINABBIN
Travel to Colbinabbin to see one of the most wonderful pieces of silo art imaginable with five privately owned silos painted by artist Tim Bowtell.
The silos depict significant events in the history of Colbinabbin including paintings of the early farmers picnics, transporting grain to and from the Colbinabbin silos, the role of the CFA and channel building to the town, and the massive tractor pull from the 1980s.
