With a heavy focus on providing students with the best educational opportunities and a supportive school environment, St Patrick’s Primary School in Tongala always has the student in mind.
Alongside a strong family orientated community, St Patrick’s also offer students a variety of specialist classes, such as Italian, art, STEM and sport.
To celebrate the upcoming education week, the kids will rotate through these specialist classes on Tuesday, May 24, in groups of Prep to Year 6 students, giving the students the chance to learn from students outside their age group.
St Patrick’s will also host an open day on Monday, May 23, for new and current parents of students to come through and see what the school has to offer and later that night, an information session.
“We're a really tight-knit community, where everybody knows each other, and knows what they bring with them to make our school unique,” principal Jackie Stockdale said.
“The students all have different gifts and talents and because we're small, we have the opportunity to celebrate and showcase those talents, which is really exciting.”
“Our staff do an amazing job to ensure that the students have access to all those different opportunities that are available in the community, especially in terms of sporting opportunities, camps and excursions.
“Just because we're small, doesn't mean the students miss out.”
Mrs Stockdale encourages families to come and check out the school not just during education week, but anytime of the year.
“We’re open all year round for people to come and visit... I think what's really special about our school is we know the kids and the families really well and our families feel really comfortable and connected here,” she said.
St Patrick’s Primary School will host its open day all day Monday, May 23, and people are invited to attend on the hour for tours and an information night will take place in the evening at 7pm.
New and current parents are welcome to attend at 32-34 Mangan St, Tongala.
