The GV Afghan Women’s Association in Shepparton hosted Eid celebrations on June 14 at Nabi Akram Mosque (SW).
“We were very honoured to have guests from other communities, including Iraqi, Indian, Pakistani and Australian, who joined the event, making it diverse,” GVAWAS vice-president Fazela Abbasi said.
The festivities featured something for everyone: delicious food, face painting, henna, a colouring competition, gift bags for kids, a photo booth and a jumping castle, all contributing to a vibrant day enjoyed by all ages.
The association thanked Greater Shepparton City Council for sponsoring the event, calling it “a special opportunity” not only for the Afghan community, but for the broader community as well.
