The Grains Research and Development Corporation Grains Research Update will feature speakers covering important business issues, such as social licence with Katie McRobert from the Australian Farm Institute; the latest trends on the grain, forage and maize markets with Ron Storey, from Storey Marketing Services; and Peter Lawford, from Waterpool Co-Op, who will share insights into the water market outlook.
Climate and environment will also be a feature with Dale Grey, from Agriculture Victoria, who will provide a seasonal climate outlook and Wayne Meyer, from the University of Adelaide, will discuss how growers are responding to shifts in climate, water availability and the environment.
Fellow speaker and grain grower Steve Lanyon will share his insights into growing maize and Damian Jones, from the Irrigated Cropping Council, will discuss the cost benefit analysis of irrigating wheat in drought years.
To wrap up the day, delegates will hear about important developments in weed and pest control, with Andrew Milgate from NSW DPI and Chris Preston from University of Adelaide.
The GRDC Grains Research Update will be held at Moama Bowling Club, 6 Shaw St, Moama, from 9am to 3pm on Thursday, July 25.
