GOTAFE’s Agriculture Department held a fencing demonstration day at the William Orr Campus on August 14.
The event included a fencing demonstration provided by Waratah Fencing, which also gave attendees the chance to get hands-on experience using the latest technology and techniques for fencing construction and stock control.
Attendees heard about stock control methods using virtual fencing.
Virtual fencing is an animal friendly fencing system that allows livestock to be confined without using fixed fences.
It relies on collars, wireless technology and sensors to control the location of livestock without the need for an actual fence.
