The syndicate donated $50 000 to the Salway family, from Cobargo, and BlaizeAid, before World Wide Sires chipped in with a further $15 000.
Flanagan Marketing Services director Lawrie Flanagan said the main reason for the purchase was to donate to the cause.
“The main reason was the donation,” he said.
“There's not many cows worth $50 000.
“We're happy to be involved and help a worthy cause.
“If we make money out of it, it will be a bonus.”
The syndicate will have the pick of any cow from the Moxey Farms stud.
Mr Flanagan said the syndicate would pick out a good cow, with good index, type and pedigree and hopefully it will work out over time.
Once chosen, the cow will call Finley's Woodlawn Holsteins home.
