Dairy Industry Code review extendedThe public submission period for the review of the Dairy Industry Code has been extended until August 29, 2021.
Federal Agriculture Minister David Littleproud said the two-week extension would allow more input from dairy farmers, processors, and industry groups.
“Extending the submission period will allow greater opportunity for everyone to have their say despite impacts of COVID shutdowns,” Mr Littleproud said.
“This is part of the first formal review process for the Dairy Industry Code.
“The review will play a critical role in assessing whether the code is operating as intended and delivering the outcomes the dairy industry needs.
“The mandatory Dairy Industry Code was introduced on January 1, 2020, to ensure a fairer go for dairy farmers.
“It’s about keeping families on the farm while creating a stronger business environment with better regulation, healthier market competition, and more competitive supply chains.”
