Masses will be held at different times to ensure flexibility for community members.
Contrary to previous years, all masses will be taking place inside the church in order to protect attendees from the high number of mosquitoes and the unpredictable weather.
On Christmas Eve, St Brendan’s Parish will be celebrating children’s mass at 5pm, family mass at 6.30pm and Christmas carols from 10.30pm followed by late mass at 11pm.
Children’s mass will include teachers from St Brendan’s and St Luke’s primary schools leading students from the two schools in singing.
A Syro-Malabar mass, held in the Malayalam language, will also be held in St Brendan’s church at 8pm.
On Christmas Day, mass will be held in the church at 8am and 11am.
St Brendan’s church will also be holding a Misa De Gallo dawn mass every day from Friday, December 16, to Saturday, December 24, at 6am.
St Brendan’s parish priest Father Joe Taylor warmly invites all members of the community to come together and celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
“Myself and Fr Jackson, along with the priests of the parish, welcome everyone with great joy to pray with us at this most special season of Christmas,” Fr Taylor said.
Parking will be in Knight St, St Brendan’s church car park and surrounding streets.
