The Katamatite community have been asked to get their creative juices flowing and help form the final design for the silos.
“The project has been developing over the last couple of years with many design suggestions being put forward,” Katamatite Lions Club said.
“A list of these ideas has been compiled and Katamatite residents can choose one of these or make a new suggestion.”
A survey seeking feedback will be circulated to the Katamatite community through the local post office, with an online survey to be available via Facebook.
The survey will open on Tuesday, August 18 and close on Friday, August 28 at 4 pm.
Katamatite Lions Club and Silo Art Working Group members will then collate the data and select an artist to paint the silos.
The artist will produce final designs and the Katamatite community will again be able to select their favourite.
Katamatite Lions Club will continue to investigate grants and online fundraising options to raise the funds to complete the project.
“Things were progressing well early this year, but the COVID-19 pandemic has made fundraising difficult,” the club said.
“We appreciate the assistance and support provided over the years from GrainCorp, Moira Shire Council, the Bangerang people, VicRoads and Parks Victoria.
“The ongoing support from members of the North East Art Trail Group has been extremely helpful.”
Katamatite will feature alongside Tungamah, Devenish, Goorambat and St James as part of the North East Silo Art Trail.
The Katamatite silos are located on the edge of town, in the Broken-Boosey State Park.
