Car and tip truck collide on Doyles Rd

Stuck in a drain: Traffic was blocked following a crash on Doyles Rd, Shepparton, on Thursday morning.

A woman received minor injuries after a collision between her car and a tip truck on a busy Shepparton road on Thursday, May 11.

Shepparton Highway Patrol Senior Constable Bernie Cline said the woman pulled out of a driveway on the eastern side of the road and was involved in a collision with the truck, which was travelling south about 8.25am.

The woman’s car was pushed across the road in the collision, before coming to rest in a table drain on the opposite side of the road, about 20m north of the Channel Rd intersection.

The woman, 26, from Greater Shepparton, was taken to Goulburn Valley Health by ambulance with cuts and abrasions.

The truck driver was not injured.

Doyles Rd was closed between Poplar Ave and Channel Rd while emergency services cleaned up the scene.

The road was reopened about 50 minutes after the crash.
