On Thursday, January 12 the Tocumwal RSL club came alive for the Finley and District Camera Club awards night.

About 20 people attended the low-key but fun event which showcased the valuable contribution of members throughout 2022.
Attendees brought a shared platter of food ensuring a feast was had by all.
Life-long photographers: President Chris Filshie presented club member David Stillard with a Life Membership badge.

The awards night saw two new life members awarded their badges, club secretary Valerie Lee and David Stillard.
Marjorie Coulter and club president Chris Filshie won the Peter Walton Shield for Novice Photographer and the Val Tongs Shield for Advanced Photographer respectively.
Mr Filshie also won the Ron Cooper award.
The award is given to the best video photography montage.

Shirley Coldwell won the Max Pascoe Award for Best Colour Image for a photo of a cassowary as well as the Max Pascoe Award for the Best Black and White Image for a photo of a wallaby.
Club secretary Valerie Lee said that the club welcomed any new members, and said the club was a good way to socialise with the community.
“We strive to encourage people to join, who wish to learn how their camera works and how to take great photos. Members of the public are welcome at our monthly meeting and we encourage anyone interested in photography to come along and join in.”
