Hosted by the Irrigation Farmers Network, in collaboration with CottonInfo and Murray Dairy, the conference will be held on Tuesday, July 22 at the Rich River Golf Club, Moama.
There will be a packed agenda of practical tips, cutting-edge technology updates, and research insights tailored to help irrigators boost productivity and sustainability.
Among the highlights is a session on the latest research outcomes in irrigated farming systems, led by Damian Jones, research manager at Irrigation Farmers Network.
Conference organisers say there’s a lot of uncertainty around water availability and climate variability, but there’s also potential for growers to adapt and thrive.
“We’ll be sharing local research that shows how flexible farming systems, dry sowing strategies, and risk management tools can all help improve sustainability and profitability on irrigated farms.”
Other sessions include a water outlook with Andrew Shields, river operations manager at Goulburn-Murray Water; advancements in agtech with Simon Blyth, managing director of INCYT; drones in agriculture with Chris Thorburn from Thorburn Drone Solutions, including drones and spray technology; as well as practical steps growers can take towards reducing emissions with Cam Nicolson form Nicon Rural Consulting.
There will also be a farmer panel featuring local growers.
The conference runs from 9.30am to 4.30pm and includes morning tea, lunch and networking opportunities.
Registrations are now open. Thanks to the support of GRDC, there are some sponsored tickets available enabling farmers to attend for free.
