Victoria's agricultural and pastoral societies have received a kick-start to the approaching ‘show season’ with the Victorian Government announcing $300,000 in funding support.
The state's A&P societies have been granted the funding support to assist their recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Agriculture Minister Mary-Anne Thomas officially opened the Agricultural and Pastoral Society Grants Program for this year by announcing that grants of up to $10,000 would be available to successful applicants.
Grants can be used for a range of purposes, including to implement COVID-safe measures and support the use of technology to encourage remote participation in show activities.
They will also allow agricultural and pastoral societies to develop infrastructure, increase community involvement and improve show planning activities.
Applications for the Agricultural and Pastoral Society Grants Program are open until Sunday, October 3.
