Ms Smith established the organisation Farmers Want A Dress/Suit (Australia) this year and explained the purpose of the organisation.
"Farmer Wants A Dress/Suit (Australia) was established to collect formal wear and accessories, bundle them into a truck and deliver them to those drought-affected communities," she said.
"This is to help boost the morale in the community by allowing the students and their parents to access formal wear for milestones of their schooling years such as primary and secondary graduations, debutante balls and formals."
Despite being in its infancy, the organisation has now grown to quite a large size, with drop-off points almost Victoria-wide, and others in NSW, Queensland and the ACT.
"I couldn’t do it without the support of my community and the general public," Ms Smith said.
"I was absolutely blown away when Anthony Ryan Transport came on board as a sponsor and offered to cover most of the associated fuel costs.
"Then an organisation called Pinchapoo agreed to donate 1000 of their pamper packs to the organisation."
Ms Smith said some donations had come from drought-affected communities to help out other communities in the same position.
To donate formal wear and accessories, a drop-off point has been set up at Shepparton's F45 Training, 204-208 High St, Shepparton.
Other donations can be sent to 113-115 Clarke St, Howlong, NSW.
Financial donations can also be made to: www.gofundme.com/f/farmer-wants-a-dresssuit
The cut-off day for donations is Friday, August 23.
