Seymour Railway Heritage Centre is running a special train to Tocumwal on Saturday, September 28, for the Tocumwal Foreshore Market.
The Tocumwal Foreshore Market stalls sell a range of products from fresh produce to stylish fashion selections, and gathers visitors from all over NSW and Victoria.
Other exhibits offer arts and crafts, woodwork, organic produce, collectables and homewares.
The heritage train will be hauled by former Victorian Railways X31 and T378 blue and gold locomotives, and passengers will have the choice of travelling in comfortable 100-year-old wooden-bodied carriages or former Spirit of Progress steel compartment carriages.
The restored 112-year-old Yarra carriage was built at Newport workshops by the Victorian Railways in 1906.
It is one of two parlour carriages (the other being Murray) which was used on the Sydney Limited.
Metal ceilings impressed with an arabesque design, decorated leadlight segments overhanging the large side windows and an observation platform on the rear are some of its features.
Two optional tours are also available, to Koonoomoo’s Big Strawberry and Cobram’s Cobba Paddle Boat.
