The five-year-old, Wallumlands Mary 4, was bred by noted Illawarra breeder Terry Tidcombe.
Mr Parker said the beauty of the on-farm competition was the opportunity to see cows like Mary that didn’t make it into the show ring.
The challenge awarded the Janette Falls Elders judge’s choice award to Rachael Barnes and Cody Trickey’s Ovensdale Beauty 458 from Finley.
The young cow was placed in the two-year-old in-milk class.
The judging included a nine-years-and-over in-milk class, which was a testament to the longevity of the breed. The class was won by Jason Smith’s Baromi H-Tulip Tessa.
The award winners were announced at a presentation dinner on Friday, November 29.
