Since 2018, there have been 25 work-related deaths in the agriculture industry in the Hume and Loddon-Mallee regions.
WorkSafe also accepted 1471 injury claims from workers in the agriculture industry in the Hume and Loddon-Mallee regions in the same time frame.
The year with the most fatalities was 2018, with six.
In 2025, so far, there have been no fatalities and 81 injury claims.
Both 2021 and 2022 were the worst for injury claims, each reporting 212 injury claims.
WorkSafe classifies the Hume region as the local government areas of Mitchell, Moira, Murrindindi, Shepparton, Strathbogie, Alpine, Benalla, Indigo, Mansfield, Towong, Wangaratta and Wodonga.
It classifies the Loddon-Mallee region as the local government areas of Bendigo, Campaspe, Central Goldfields, Loddon, Macedon Ranges, Mt Alexander, Buloke, Gannawarra, Mildura and Swan Hill.
