About 40 riders braced the extreme heat, with the temperature reaching 37°C in the afternoon.
Kerang Pony Club secretary Sandra Peacock said most events were finished before it got too hot.
“We would love to thank everyone for turning up on the day, considering we had such extreme weather,” Ms Peacock said.
“We had die-hard showjumpers still there even when it was really hot.
“We had people from all over the state from Geelong up to Nyah, and we were pretty impressed with the quality.”
Kerang Pony Club president Sarah Archard said the gymkhana was a major fundraising event which generated about $1500 through event entries, the canteen and a raffle from donated goods.
“Most of that will end up buying sand to put down on the ground for the Kerang Pony Club, which gets really hard,” Mrs Archard said.
The annual event was held at Alexandra Park in Kerang.
A number of events have had to be cancelled across 18 pony clubs in the northern zone, covering an area from Tocumwal to Mildura, in an attempt to reduce the spread of coronavirus.
