Fiona said she was pleased to be back with the group, having previously worked as a journalist, sub-editor and editor on various publications including the Seymour Telegraph, Shepparton News and Country News.
She has also worked for the Daily Telegraph, Sydney, and during the past decade has held media and communications roles with regional local and state government organisations.
“Regional communities have always loved reading local news, sourced by journalists who live in the towns they report on,” Fiona said.
“With so much information coming at us from so many channels, our communities want a trusted, independent source of news.
“It’s terrific to be back sharing stories and highlighting the issues that really matter to regional people.”
Fiona said she appreciated the opportunity to work with Geoff Adams again, as well as with Daneka Hill who joined the Country News team last September. Geoff will continue to write for Country News while taking on additional senior leadership responsibilities across McPherson Media Group.
