The Swanpool Creative Recycled Art Prize is returning for another year, with people with a big imagination and creative flair encouraged to enter before July 12.
The format is big in Europe and the United States but scrap art is very much in its formative stages in Australia, with the only exhibitions generally being in regional areas, with some focusing on recycled farm scrap.
Entries of wearable and functional items, along with artistic creations using recycled, salvaged or re-purposed materials, will be considered.
The major winner will pocket $3500, and seven other prizes of $500 each will be up for grabs.
There is no fee to submit an entry but if selected by the judges there will be a small exhibit fee.
The exhibition of finalists will be on display at Swanpool and District Memorial Hall, 2386 Midland Hwy, Swanpool from August 3 to 18, with opening times from 10am to 4pm each day.
