From humble beginnings to becoming a cornerstone of the country’s livestock scene, the AAA is celebrating 35 years.
Australian Alpaca Association president Brett Fallon said the Australian Alpaca Show invited people of all ages to discover the unique value of alpacas in sustainable agriculture and premium fibre production.
“Alpacas have become an integral part of Australia’s agricultural sector, with more than 160,000 recorded around the country — earning us the mantle of being home to the second-highest population in the Southern Hemisphere, behind Peru,” he said.
Over the three days, the show will feature hundreds of entries, from handcrafted alpaca products to the attraction of more than 300 Suri and Huacaya alpacas parading the ring.
Judging will be led by Peter Kennegy Gane, Shane Carey and Natasha Clark.
The weekend event is designed to entertain, inspire and shine a spotlight on the alpaca industry..
Explore 150 premium alpaca fleeces from breeders across Queensland, NSW, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia, alongside a selection of trade stands, offering everything from luxurious alpaca fleece products to unique, handmade crafts.
Visitors can book a farm stay with these charming animals..
