Victoria has again cemented its status as the nation’s leading food and fibre exporter, with a new report showing the state’s agricultural sector reached record export values in 2024-25.
Victoria’s food and fibre exports reached a record $22.1 billion last year, 28 per cent of the national total, making it Australia’s top exporting state.
Victorian Minister for Agriculture Michaela Settle has released the 2024–25 Victorian Food and Fibre Export Performance Report, and said the results reflected the hard work of Victoria’s agricultural industry.
“Behind these results are hard-working farming families and regional communities who continue to adapt and produce world-class products despite tough seasonal conditions,” Ms Settle said.
Victoria’s total exports increased by almost $2 billion on the previous year, surpassing the $20 billion 2030 target for the second year in a row.

Victoria is the second-largest meat exporting state in the country, behind Queensland, who contribute about 37 per cent.
Other exported commodities also returned strong results, with grain exports totalling about $4.6 billion and dairy at $2.8 billion.
