Under the scrutiny of Gippsland cattle judge, Karl Munden, the young people moved confidently around the ring with their charges they had prepared themselves.
Champion handler was Tammy Stone, 22 of Katunga, who took out her own heifer, Hawthorn Glen Gloria Tequila.
Mr Munden remarked on how Tammy was calm and collected.
“She did a good job handling the heifer who occasionally played up. She was calm and always in control.”
Sophie Joyce, 16, from Tongala showed the champion heifer in the 13 to 17 years competition. She is pictured with her nephew, Harry Fisher.
Penny Gavenlock, 10, showed the junior champion — a Veronica heifer — and was also named junior champion of the youth show. Penny clipped the heifer and prepared her for the show. She is the daughter of Brad and Jess Gavenlock of Tallygaroopna.
