Millions of fans are expected to tune in across the globe for Australia’s round of 32 match live from Dallas Stadium in Texas.
With the game kicking off in the United States at 4am AEST, Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan has announced a law change to enable pubs and licensed venues to stay open through the night to showcase the action.
Under its powers as part of the Liquor Control Reform Act 1998, the Victorian Government has granted automatic approval to venues to operate during the knockout game.
“The best thing about Victoria during the World Cup is watching our bars, streets and public spaces come to life,” Ms Allan said in a statement.
“Venues showing the broadcast can stay open all night and the last service will be an hour after the match ends.
“Good luck Socceroos – Victoria is behind you.”
The Deck manager Chase Pati revealed that plans are in place for a watch-along party.

Shepparton venue The Deck will be welcoming Socceroos fans for the game — with a special twist to help fuel those staying up through the night.
“We’ll be doing a big breakfast of sausages, hash browns, eggs and a coffee — all for $20,” manager Chase Pati said.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone, bringing people together in the morning for some breakfast and coffees, and making it enjoyable for everyone.”
Mr Pati revealed that Australia’s success at the World Cup had had a positive impact in Shepparton, with his venue enjoying an increase in footfall.
“It’s been really good for all of us, it really brings people together,” he said.
“If the Socceroos win, the fans tend to stay longer, but we’ll see. Fingers crossed they win.”
