About 800 people - including several from Deniliquin and district - took on the events at Community Living and Respite Services’ flagship Run Echuca-Moama event on Sunday.

There were entries across the 21.1km half-marathon, 10km, and 5km running events, as well as the junior dashes.
In the 5km run, there were several local runners and leading the way were Mathoura’s Sophie, Matilda and Katelyn Eddy.
The junior runners crossed the line together for equal third place for women, all finishing with a time of 22:55.
In the 21.1km half-marathon there were at least 10 Deniliquin-based participants, with some of the fastest times from those competitors finishing in one hour and 40 minutes.
Deniliquin also had participants in the 10km event, with some of the quickest local representatives completing the run around the hour mark.
This year had a unique element as all runners got to make use of the roadway on the old Echuca-Moama bridge, with the road closed for the race.
The 21.1km and 10km events started on the bridge itself.
Plenty of time was slashed off last year’s winning half-marathon run.
This year’s overall winner, Jack Gospel, completed the course in 1.11:27, more than eight minutes faster than last year’s winning time.
Echuca-Moama local Hayley Waterson was the fastest woman across the line, improving on her 1.26:40 win last year to post 1.22:17.
The 10km was won by Tim Dooley in a time of 32:55, while Benji Carfoot prevailed in the 5km in 16:44.
