Runners-up were Prue Lloyd and Kym Sandford, on countback to Ginny Lange and Sarah Lugsdin.
In last Thursday’s stableford event, Pauline Davis was a clear winner with 37 points, while Karen Butcher continued her run of form to take the runners-up prize with 34.
On Wednesday, Ken Wemyss was the A-grade winner with 39 points from runner-up Hugh Sutton on 37, and B-grade winner was Graeme Butcher with 40 points on countback to Graham Flanagan.
Highlight of the day was a hole-in-one on the fifth by Hugh Sutton which, of course, secured him the ‘golden hole’.
There are not a lot of special events in coming weeks, but with spring just around the corner the action on course, like the weather, will start to warm up.
In the immediate future, tomorrow is stroke for the men’s monthly medal, Tuesday is 9 holes stroke and putting, Wednesday is stableford, Thursday is stroke and ladies’ medal, and next Saturday is stableford.
In the clubhouse, the Flagstick Bistro continues to provide excellent meals at a reasonable price. Winter trading hours are Wednesday to Sunday, with lunch from 11am to 2.30pm and dinner from 5pm to 8.30pm. Function bookings are also welcome, and make sure you check out the new menu.
Don’t forget Friday Night Fun continues tonight. Raffle tickets are on sale from 6pm with draws at 7pm, and happy hour is 6pm to 7pm.
