Neither Lockington-Bamawm United nor Leitchville-Gunbower could overcome their respective opponents in round eight of Heathcote District League A-grade netball.
Leitchville-Gunbower v Elmore
Travelling to Elmore Recreation Reserve court one to face the fourth-placed Bloods, the Bombers couldn’t get over the top of the hosts, being downed by 20 at the full-time siren.
The final score was 56 to 36.
This leaves L-G on the outside looking in on the finals picture as we approach the halfway point of the season.
The Bombers will look for redemption this week when they go up against their closest contemporaries in 2025, North Bendigo.
Lockington-Bamawm United v North Bendigo
Speaking of the Bulldogs, they got over the top of current wooden-spooner Lockington-Bamawm United, which will have one more chance to get on the board in the first half of the season.
The Cats could scarcely counter anything North Bendigo threw at them, falling short by 33 goals at North Bendigo Oval court one.
The final score was 24 to 57.
LBU will have a tough bout ahead of it in round nine, returning home to face third-place White Hills at Lockington Recreation Reserve.
