Last Friday’s Deniliquin and District PSSA Athletics Carnival drew young athletes from across the region to compete at the Hardinge Street Oval.

The event featured a full day of track and field competitions, with students showcasing their athleticism, determination, and school pride.
While successful competitors progress to the next stage of the competition, the carnival was more than just a contest, it was an opportunity for all students to experience the excitement of representative sport and enjoy a day of camaraderie and achievement.
Among the standout performers were Arianah Meads and Millie Hall, who were named Junior Girl Champions.
In the Junior Boys division, Oliver Hall took the top spot, with Levi Robson just behind.
In the 11 Years category, Sophie Eddy claimed the Girls Champion title, followed by Bella Garner.
Ben Taylor was crowned the Boys Champion, with Connor Sampson earning runner-up honours.
Senior division accolades went to Bindi Taylor, who was named Senior Girl Champion, with Jessiea Bray close behind.
Jordyn Brain emerged as the Senior Boy Champion, while Lenny Hanns secured the runner-up position.
In the overall school championship points tally, Deniliquin North dominated the field, finishing first.
Hay took second place, and Deniliquin South rounded out the top three.
