In loving memory of...

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Serafino Caruso, who passed away at 1:42 pm on Saturday, 1 August 2026, at Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre, Adelaide, just one month shy of his 86th birthday.

In his final years, Serafino was blessed to spend precious time with his extended family. He adored them all, and they loved him dearly in return.

A special mention must also be made of his beloved family in Italy, whom Serafino loved unconditionally. Although separated by distance, the bond he shared with them remained strong throughout his life. His love for his Italian family and his connection to his roots were always very close to his heart.

Soon after arriving in Australia, Serafino built a successful professional photography business, carrying forward the family’s photographic tradition from Italy to Australia.

He became one of the first professional photographers in this part of the country, and was one of the last of the original photographers of his era before digital photography transformed the profession.

A true professional in his time, Serafino took great pride in his work and in extending the family business and its traditions to a new country. After many years of dedication to his craft, he eventually retired to enjoy a quieter life surrounded by those he loved.

Serafino is survived by his two children, Elizabeth Kaye and Enrico Caruso, along with his extended family in Australia and his beloved family in Italy, and all those whose lives he touched.
