Vale Jocelyn Cull

The Essington School community mourns the passing of Jocelyn Cull, a much-valued parent within the school community and a respected member of the School Board since 2023

Jocelyn joined the Board at an important time in the school’s journey, bringing with her strong governance expertise and a calm, principled approach to leadership. As a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, she offered thoughtful insight and professionalism, strengthening the Board’s work and direction.

She was respected not only for her clarity of thought and sound judgement, but also for the way she approached complex matters with steadiness and care. Jocelyn had a genuine ability to support those around her, offering guidance that brought both confidence and reassurance.

Jocelyn believed deeply in the importance of education and in creating a school where children feel a true sense of belonging. She often spoke of her connection to the school community and her belief in what it represents.

Beyond the Board, Jocelyn gave generously of her time and expertise to the Darwin community, quietly supporting others and contributing where she could.

Above all, she was a devoted wife and mother who took great pride in her family.

Jocelyn will be remembered for her integrity, warmth, and generosity of spirit, and for the lasting contribution she made to the Essington community.

Jocelyn will be dearly missed by her husband, Graeme, their children, The Essington School Board, staff, the school community, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
